Many of us know people who are struggling with illness and disease and some of us have lost people near and dear to us because of it. It’s always difficult and, in the end, affects us deeply on many levels. After a good friend of mine passed in August, I looked for solace in a number of different elements of my greater yoga practice. In this search, I found the Buddha’s “Five Remembrances,” translated and rendered by Thich Nhat Hanh.
Knowing and accepting that everything changes is reassuring to me. Yoga then helps me deal with the challenges that some of those changes can bring.
